In case you missed it, because it was not reported, the US has achieved victory in Iraq. We came to bring democracy, to give the people freedom to choose their leaders, and to rid the world of Saddam Hussein, a dictator that for many years worked on developing and threatened the world with weapons of mass destruction. All this has been achieved. Iraq has had elections, chosen new leaders, and executed the former murderous dictator.
Now the country has new challenges. Rival religious factions are at war with one another. The influence of the “religion of hate” has caused violence and murder. We may have been naïve or ill-informed when we, the American people, bipartisan leaders in congress, and even the UN authorized the war. We may not have understood how much hatred and culture of murder and revenge lay beneath the surface. But now we have to decide if we will help Iraq through this next struggle. Will we help them solve their domestic civil war and contain those religious fanatics that are causing the most problems? This is a new question. It is a question we would not have had to ask if we hadn’t gone there in the first place, but it does not diminish the fact that we achieved what we set out to achieve.

Why don’t we spend another trillion dollars to “bring democracy” to every dictatorship on Earth, including China, North Korea, and half of S. America and Africa. Why not totally bankrupt American taxpayers to do this? Where in the Constitution does it say America is morally and financially responsible to bring democracy to every human being on Earth? If our “noble” politicians want to do this, let them take money out of their own bank to pay for the Iraq War to bring the Iraqis “democracy”, which is a farce because Islam and democracy are like oil and water — they don’t mix and never will.

While we may have realized a brilliant battlefield victory, we did not win the war…..yet.
Like the amazing defeat of Syria by the Israeli Army, we too have found our Waterloo, by snatching defeat from the jaws of Victory, as did the Israelis.
Israel won the war, but lost to the Intifada which followed.
It is called fighting a “limited war,” which taxes and bleeds our people, rather than garnering the spoils of war. In short, it is deficit financing on a par with our trade imbalance with Red China.
We fight on a site of the enemy’s choosing. We play by his rules of engagement, with IEDs, car bombs, pot shots, kidnappings and beheadings, being the standard fare.
Such tactics of war, will only lead to defeat for our mission in Mesopotamia.
Meanwhile, on the homefront; the president continues to frustrate his base–and the American people– by ignoring the detention of U.S. Border Patrol agents, Ramos and Compean. His failure to grant a pardon to those who serve this country, speaks volumes about his attention to details.
The aiding and abetting of the Mexican “Reconquista” by this administration is pure treason, and it cannot be subtracted from the Iraq equation, for it is the same war.
It will become necessary to initiate regime change for Iran, but there too, the president will be handicapped by his own policies which have already alienated many Americans– most notably, his monarchial proposal to abolish the borders of the United States of America.
How can we support one who gives our nation away to the New World Order, and the ascendancy of Big Brother?
Our country is occupied by a guerrilla army of 30 million Mexican nationals, who have annexed American territory, without a single shot being fired. Where is the “War President?”

Type your comment here. The posting by James(2-3-07) sums alot up in just a little. Me and my wife have had two wonderful Afghan exchange students and they have said what we are doing in their country is great. They hope that Iraq realizes that is what the U.S is trying to do for them. The former exchange students have many horror stories to tell about the Taliban and I can just imagine the horror stories about the murderous butcher Sadam, that we haven’t heard. I pray everday for the quick return of our soldiers, I’m ready for them to come home. My son just came home from S.Korea last month from being over in Korea for one year and was ready to come home, but also said there is good things happening. There is to many negative things being reported instead of the positive. I guess terrible things are more exciting then good things. I say get the boys home, stop giving aid to everyone and take care of our own. If anything is left then worry about the others for a change. Also Revolutionary (2-7-07) had a very fine article with alot of good points.

“Red Friday”
If Americans want to show support
for the troops, wearing “red” isn’t
the way to do it. We need to keep
the issue of bringing the troops home
alive. Our troops don’t belong in
Iraq. I just received an email saying that wearing red makes you
an American that supports the troops
vs. the media and liberals who don’t
support the troops. It is propaganda
that is beign fed to people that if
you don’t agree with the “President”
and give money freely, then you don’t
support the troops. Well the eye
opener is that the “President” doesn’t support the troops. Never has! The weapons of mass destruction
was a lie to get Iraq oil and jobs
for Halliburton. This so called
“President” doesn’t take care of the
injured soldiers coming home, look at
the VA hospitals and how they are treated. This is America people, wake up out of your trance. We need an itelligent leader, not a red neck cowboy who needs to try and prove to
daddy he can do it better.
I say it is time for impeachment!
I am embarrassed that some many
Americans are so dumb to fall for this “President’s” crap. Our present
administration is so corrupt it is
amazing to me that they are all still
in place! It is truly scary to think
I live in a country with so many
people that are willing to believe
whatever story they are being told at the moment!

I don’t think we would have been too happy if Great Britain had stepped in to “stabilize us” during the civil war.
I also think it’s hilarious that the spelling and grammar of an 8th grade liberal is better than most of the conservative adults on all the forums I frequent. What does that tell you?
Oh and hey… will people stop saying that liberals don’t support the troops? Because I’d say that advocating to bring them home so that they don’t keep dying is a lot more supportive than keeping them in there for a lost cause that is just breaking more and more families apart. Getting Saddam out was a good enough idea, and I’m gald that happened. But now that there is a new leader in place it’s his responsibility to get his country sorted out- not ours.
Oh yeah and it was fun once but please- no more democratizing of other countries.
Seriously… get some (Common Sense).

Ahh, the party of alleged ‘compassion’ whines for denying our soldiers victory as well as condemning many thousands to their deaths for the same, tired reasoning of fear.

What kind of victory we talk about ? Is a new call of victory this we don’t know ? No, no this is never a victory. It is just a defeat. Defeat in the war area, and defeat in financial area! We buried much lots of dollars and bodies in the desert.
Is that all ? No, never! Deaths, woundeds, ruined houses, ruined energy power building, schooles, mosques and disorganized social order.
America has had second defeat in Iraq after Vietnam.

Our foray in Iraq has led to strengthing our adversaries and enemies - Russia, China, Iran. Higher oil has created more wealth for them. In 2006 China contributed more to the global economy than any country on earth, including the US. Russia and China are helping Iran achieve nuclear status while we are pinned down in Iraq. Great strategy!
After this sorry episode in US history has ended we Americans will ask ourselves: “What happened to the rest of the world while we were gone?” Russia, China and Iran must believe they don’t have to worry about the US while we are slugged down their. We have done their dirty work for them and they will reap all the benefits from our shortsightedness.
The US is a super power nation with a military that is too small to be effective. At the height of the Vietnam War that US had 550,000 military personnel in that one country alone. In 2007 the US Army has 475,000 worldwide. Someone should tell the President size does matter.

The author apparently has a lot of Iraqi relatives.
I don’t know a single Iraqi.
That’s why I’m not for spending 400 billion dollars of America money bringing democracy to them.
I suppose we should invade China, Russia, Burma, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and all the other countries in the world that don’t have democracies. At 400 billion a pop, we’d have to raise taxes to do it… and you know how much the author hates raising taxes

Yes, Danny. We can thank Clinton for decimating our military.
Amazing the success Bush has had with what he was left with. Responding resolutely to terrorist attacks and keeping us safe for the last eight years.

We were blessed in WWII in having a great President Harry Truman to lead us thru peril and a real patriot, who wouldnt put up with the shady politicians of today. What we need is a man like him,I dont see any,too bad.
